GreeNest at EU PVSEC 2026

The GreeNest project was represented at EU PVSEC 2026, held from 14–18 September in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Bringing together more than 1,400 participants from 54 countries, the event provided an international platform for sharing the latest developments in photovoltaic research and technologies.

On 16 September, Algirdas Balezentis from Modernios E-Technologijos, UAB (MET) presented the work Long-Term Reliability Testing of Metal-Based Facade and Roof PV Modules Under Outdoor and Damp Heat Conditions.

The presentation focused on the long-term performance of metal-based photovoltaic modules designed for building façades and roofs, including their testing under outdoor and damp heat conditions. Understanding how these solutions perform under different environmental conditions is an important part of developing reliable photovoltaic systems for integration into buildings.

The presentation also highlighted MET’s Eco-BIPV/BAPV photovoltaic modules, one of the technical solutions developed within GreeNest. The modules integrate renewable electricity generation into building façades and roofs and will be installed and tested within GreeNest demonstration activities.

Within the wider GreeNest ecosystem, Eco-BIPV/BAPV is one of 17 Standardised Packages combining renewable energy technologies, innovative building envelope systems, circular and nature-based materials, digital tools and construction approaches. Together, these solutions are being developed and demonstrated to support the transition towards Zero-Emission Buildings.

Participation in EU PVSEC 2026 provided an opportunity to share GreeNest research with the wider photovoltaic community and present how renewable energy technologies can become an integrated part of sustainable buildings.
