GreeNest Launches Podcast on Sustainable Construction

What does it take for sustainable building solutions to move from research and innovation into buildings that people actually want to live in? In the first episode of the GreeNest Podcast, Project Coordinator Maria Founti from NTUA and Project Officer Veronika Schröpfer from CINEA discuss the acceptance of nature-based and circular construction solutions.

The conversation looks at some of the factors influencing their wider adoption – from trust in innovative materials, costs and standards to the important role of architecture and aesthetics. As the speakers highlight, many solutions considered innovative today, including clay- and straw-based construction, are actually rooted in long-established building traditions.

The episode also explores how EU-funded research can help bring these approaches into practice by connecting researchers, architects, engineers, producers and building users across Europe. Through real-life demonstrations and collaboration, projects such as GreeNest can help build confidence in solutions that combine circularity, climate neutrality and architectural quality.
