GreeNest at the ECTP Conference and EUSEW 2026

The GreeNest project was presented at two important European conferences in Brussels dedicated to the future of sustainable buildings, energy efficiency and the transition towards climate-neutral construction. Partners participated in the ECTP Conference 2026, held on 26–27 May, and the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2026, held on 9–11 June. Together, these events provided valuable opportunities to showcase the GreeNest ecosystem, exchange with key stakeholders, and discuss how CO₂-neutral materials, renewable energy systems and circular construction methods can support the next generation of Zero-Emission Buildings.

ECTP Conference 2026

At the ECTP Conference 2026, organised under the motto “Building Europe’s Competitiveness in the Built Environment: from Strategic Vision to Industrial Impact”, the GreeNest project was represented by Maria Founti, Project Coordinator from NTUA, and Michal Klauda from FENIX TNT. The conference brought together stakeholders from across the construction and built environment value chain to discuss research and innovation priorities, industrial competitiveness, circularity, digitalisation and decarbonisation.

The event also provided an excellent opportunity to present the newly developed GreeNest roll-up and highlight the project’s demonstrations. Participants learned more about the GreeNest ecosystem, including its portfolio of Standardised Packages, physical and virtual demonstrations, and digital tools designed to reduce both embodied and operational emissions. The conference enabled valuable exchanges with organisations active in the Built4People ecosystem and the wider European construction sector.

EUSEW 2026

In June, the GreeNest was showcased at EUSEW 2026, one of Europe’s key events focused on sustainable energy, energy efficiency, affordability, renewable energy and decarbonisation. The project was presented at the Climate Pioneers booth, Stand 13, located in the Charlemagne Building, where visitors could explore the project’s mission, demonstrations and material innovation. Representing GreeNest were Maria Founti from NTUA, Sina Jansen from NBL, Andrea Klinge from FHWT, and Petra Colantonio and Ivana Kolackova from FENIX TNT.

Throughout the event, the project team engaged with companies, energy-sector professionals, policy stakeholders, European Commission representatives and the project officer, Dr Veronika Schröpfer. The booth featured presentations during the conference breaks, a video showcasing GreeNest solutions, material samples and demonstration activities. In total, the booth recorded more than 75 interactions, creating space not only for positive feedback but also for open discussions on the challenges of bringing bio-based and recycled materials closer to market implementation.
